Encompass Software Development Kit (SDK)
The Encompass SDK (Encompass Software Development Kit) provides your organization the ability to integrate your existing back office applications with your Encompass system. By using the Application Programming Interface (API) included with the SDK, software developers can write custom code to move data between applications, create processes for updating or reporting on your loans, or write their own stand-alone user interfaces.

Transitioning from Encompass SDK to Developer Connect APIs
Beginning in Encompass 25.4, users logging in with the admin user ID, as well as users assigned with the Administrator or Super Administrator persona, will receive a warning message explaining that access to Encompass SDK-based plugins and applications will soon end. This message displays for these users in Encompass instances that have Encompass SDK plugins.
ICE will be transitioning from legacy Encompass SDK (Software Development Kit) clients and partners off SDK-based applications and plug-ins (lender, partner and ICE created) . This enables our clients, partners, and ICE to continue to innovate and automate by eliminating legacy integrations and focusing on modern technology.

APIs for the most common SDK functions and native Encompass functionality will eliminate the need for many legacy SDK use cases. Encompass APIs are interoperable across web and desktop, as both user interfaces sit on top of the same underlying Encompass loan file. Alternatives to SDK functionality are available with more coming. There may not be 100% parity, but we will provide the most common functions and alternatives. What is the SDK?
The Encompass SDK (Encompass Software Development Kit) provides your organization the ability to integrate your existing back office applications with your Encompass system. By using the Application Programming Interface (API) included with the SDK, software developers can write custom code to move data between applications, create processes for updating or reporting on your loans, or write their own stand-alone user interfaces.
Major Releases and the SDK
When a major Encompass release (for example, Encompass 23.1) becomes available, your Encompass installation should be upgraded to this latest release. It's required that the Encompass SDK run time environment must also be upgraded to match the newly updated Encompass Server. If you fail to upgrade the SDK your application will not be permitted to connect to the updated Encompass Server. If your SDK application utilizes the Encompass SmartClient, you can automate this process so the SDK is upgraded automatically every time you apply a major Encompass release. If your SDK application is installed on a computer at your location, you must manually upgrade the SDK for every major release. Service Packs, Critical Patches and the SDK
For Encompass Service Pack or Critical Patch releases, an Encompass SDK upgrade may be required or recommended. In addition to the indicator below, communications from ICE Mortgage Technology will indicate if the Service Pack or Critical Patch will be applied automatically and if an Encompass SDK upgrade is required or recommended.
The latest download links to the Encompass SDK are provided below. The SDK intended for the most recent version of Encompass available to clients is always listed at the top of this table. Be sure to check your current Encompass version number and then install only the SDK that is provided for that version. k
