Fixed Issues for Version 18.4
Why we fixed these issues: These issues were fixed to improve usability and to help ensure Encompass is operating as expected. The issues that are chosen to be fixed are based on the severity of their impact to clients and client feedback.
HMDA Updates
An update has been made to the behavior of the Initially Payable to Your Institution dropdown list (field ID HMDA.X43) on the HMDA Information input form for the benefit of institutions that service their own loans. Previously, when the Loan Status (field ID 1393) was Application denied, Application withdrawn by applicant, or File closed for incompleteness, the Initially Payable to Your Institution selection was set to 3. Not Applicable and was not editable. Now, when one of the three Loan Status options described above has been selected, a Lock icon displays next to the Initially Payable to Your Institution dropdown list. Encompass users can click the Lock icon to select another option from the list.

Calculation Updates
To resolve a conflict with the rounding method used for the Total Interest Percentage by Encompass and the rounding method used by the Encompass Compliance Service (ECS), Encompass is now rounding up the calculation when the percentage value calculates out to four decimal points and ends in a 5. Previously Encompass rounded down the value to three decimal points while ECS rounded up the value to three decimal points, which would periodically result in a warning when running ECS reports.
CBIZ-12493
The calculation used to populate the Refinance Cash Out Amount (field ID CASASRN.X79) has been updated for cash-out refinance loans per the Freddie Mac Single-Family Seller/Servicer Guide. When the Purpose of Loan (field ID 19) is Cash Out Refi, the Estimated prepaid items (field ID 138) amount from the Details of Transaction is now subtracted from the amount that is populated to the Refinance Cash Out Amount (field ID CASASRN.X79).
Workaround Information:
The following workaround was provided for this production issue and is no longer required for Encompass version 18.4 and later:
- Click the Lock icon for the Refinance Cash Out Amount (field ID CASASRN.X79) to adjust the amount.
CBIZ-13791
Adjustments have been made to the rounding methods used for the Late Fee (field ID 3876) to avoid situations where the late fee could exceed 4% of the overdue payment of principal and interest, in violation of FHA guidelines (HUD Handbook 4000.1 III.A.2.d.ii). Previously the fee was rounded up to the nearest second decimal. Beginning with Encompass 18.4, the Late Fee is not rounded, but is truncated after the second decimal.
The Late Fee amount is not updated for existing loans created prior to the upgrade to Encompass 18.4. To update the amount, Encompass users must click the Get Late Fee button on the Loan Estimate Page 3 or Closing Disclosure Page 4.
CBIZ-15856
An issue was resolved that caused incorrect amounts to be populated on line 40 on the VA 26-6393 Loan Analysis input form when a loan status (field ID 1393) was changed to any option other than Active. Changing the status locked the fields on this line, as expected, but it would also replace the borrower pay (field ID 1320) with an amount that was double the spouse’s pay (field ID 1319). This issue has been resolved and the correct amounts are now showing on line 40.
CBIZ-18501
Encompass Forms and Tools
An issue occurred where the PMI Coverage (field ID ULDD.FNM.430) field was cleared when the loan was locked. If a value was entered in the PMI Coverage field, the loan was locked (Get Pricing or manual lock), and then the lock was confirmed, the value in the PMI Coverage field was cleared. This issue has been resolved and the value in the PMI Coverage field now remains when the loan is locked.
An issue was resolved that caused the Current Finance Charge (field ID 1206) to be cleared when a loan was synced using the Piggyback Loans tool. This happened when a loan was opened in the Piggyback Loans tool and one of the following events occurred:
-
A new 2nd loan was created and the loans were synchronized.
-
The loan was linked to another loan and the data was synced between the loans.
The next time an Encompass user accesses the first loan file, the Current Finance Charge is blank on forms such as the ATR/QM Management form or the Closing Disclosure Page 5. When the user opened the RegZ-LE, the Encompass performs an automatic recalculation and populates the Current Finance Charge.
CBIZ-15265
An issue was resolved that caused the Did this change? column for the Total Payoffs and Payments (K) on the alternate version of the Closing Disclosure Page 3 to display an incorrect result. This occurred when a payoff was added in the Payoffs & Payments pop-up window and the Loan Estimate was then disclosed. The Did this change? column displayed YES when it should have displayed NO. This issue has been resolved and the column now displays NO under the conditions described above.
Workaround Information:
The following workaround was provided for this production issue and is no longer required for Encompass version 18.4 and later:
-
Use the Lock icon to edit the Total Payoffs and Payments (K) (field ID CD3.X90).
CBIZ-16444
Custom Forms
The 203H option now functions properly when selected from the SOA dropdown list (Field ID 1039) on a custom form. Previously, when an Encompass user selected 203H from the dropdown list on a custom form, the selection displayed as 203 on the FHA Management, FNMA Streamlined 1003, HUD 1003 Addendum, HUD-928005b Conditional Commitment, HUD-92900LT FHA Loan Transmittal, and VA 26-1806 Reasonable Value input forms. Additionally, when 203H was selected on a standard input form, the selection was cleared from the SOA dropdown list on any custom forms. This issue has been resolved and 203H now display correctly on all SOA dropdown lists in Encompass when selected on a standard or custom input form.
Workaround Information:
The following workaround was provided for this production issue and is no longer required for Encompass version 18.4 and later:
-
Open the custom form in the Input Form Builder and complete the following tasks:
-
Select the dropdown box for the SOA field.
-
In the Properties window, under Data, click Options.
-
Click the button on the right to open the Dropdown Options Editor window.
-
Double-click the entry in the Value column for 203H, and change the value to 203H.
-
Click OK.

EDM-19937
When working in the eFolder’s Document Details window, you can click the ATR/QM button to tie an eFolder document to ATR/QM data and indicate different types of verifications you will record. An issue occurred for users trying to complete this process. If the user had opened the Verification and Document Tracking tool in Encompass, and then navigated to a Verification screen (such as VOE (Verification of Employment)), and then navigated to the eFolder, added a new attachment to a document in the Document Details window, and then tied the document to ATR/QM data, they received the following Application Error after minimizing the Document Details window and the eFolder window:
An error occurred. Please contact your administrator with the following information:
Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
Though this is a very specific scenario, the same error was triggered for users following similar steps (opening the eFolder from a Verification screen, tying a document to ATR/QM data, and then minimizing the Document Details and eFolder windows).
These issues have been resolved. This error message is no longer triggered for users working with Verification screens, the eFolder, and ATR/QM data as described here.
Trade Management
Prior to this release, when a loan was removed from a correspondent trade (AOT, Direct Trade, or Forwards) on or after the Trade Expiration Date, the system updated that loan’s lock status to “Cancelled”. With this release, when a loan is removed from a correspondent trade, that loan’s lock status is updated to “Cancelled” only after the Trade Expiration Date. If the loan is removed on the Trade Expiration Date, the loan’s lock status reverts back to “Not Locked”.
The loan is still considered “Not Locked” even if the loan has been Submitted for Review when removed on the Trade Expiration Date.
An issue occurred where trades (loan or correspondent) and MBS pools with a number of loans (150 – 200) assigned to them took several minutes to save. This issue has been resolved and the save time has improved.
Encompass Settings
Issues occurred with Encompass Settings reports for users on systems where users had upgraded from Microsoft Office 2013 or Microsoft Office 2016 to Microsoft Office 365. After using the Settings Reports tool to generate and export an organizational or persona-based report containing users’ level of access within Encompass, the report, which is typically an Excel spreadsheet, was not displaying the field names at the top of each column as expected. Instead each column header was displayed as Field1, Field2, Field3, and so on. In addition, some users received an error when attempting to generate a Settings report. These issues have been resolved and the reports are now properly formatted and are generating as expected. With this fix in Encompass 18.4, clients can upgrade from older versions of Microsoft Office to Office 365 and they will no longer experience these issues with the Settings reports.
Workaround Information:
The following workaround provided for this issue and is no longer required for Encompass 18.4 and later:
- Double click on the field within a report, open field properties, and then change summary type for this field to none. It allows you to run the report with heads but you lose the grouping aspect of the report.
In order to determine what features and tools a user will have access to, the administrator can assign the appropriate persona to the user, and then they can also specify personalized security settings for the user which enables the administrator to customize the default persona rights. An issue occurred where administrators would customize the user’s rights for the Move Loans feature, but then discover that the new rights they assigned were not being retained by Encompass. As shown below, administrators can select the loan folders that the user has permission to move loans from and move loans to. However, the selections made by the administrator in the Select Loan Folders windows were not being saved or enforced by Encompass. This issue has been resolved and the selections made by the administrator here are now retained as expected.
Workaround Information:
The following workaround provided for this issue and is no longer required for Encompass 18.4 and later:
- Create a new Persona
- Assign appropriate "Move" rights to the new Persona
- Assign new persona to impacted users
Admins can also attempt to save the modified Persona settings a second time to try and retain the updated rights.
When configuring business rules, administrators can specify Encompass fields that will trigger the rule and specify fields as conditions for the rule. An issue occurred where fields that are “not reportable”, which are fields that are not visible on input forms or tools, and cannot be included in Encompass reports, but are necessary components of certain internal system calculations and functionality, were being added to business rules but they were not being saved and retained in the setting. For example, if an administrator added field DENIAL.X64 to a Field Triggers business rule setting and then saved this update to the setting, the field would not be indicated as part of the rule the next time the administrator accessed this setting because the system was not retaining this settings update. Starting in Encompass 18.4, fields that are “not reportable” can be added to the Field Triggers, Print Auto Selection, and Loan Form Printing business rule settings and they will be retained in the settings as expected.
An issue occurred where the Access to all loans in the same level setting in the User Details setting was not functioning correctly. If an internal Encompass user was listed as a “TPO Sales Rep” or “Account Executive” on an External Organization, that user had access to all loans associated with that TPO company. If another Encompass user account was placed within the same internal company Organization folder, the second user had access to the same TPO company loans even though that user was not a “TPO Sales Rep” or “Account Executive” with any TPO company and the Access to all loans in the same level setting was disabled. This issue has been resolved and if the Access to all loan in the same level setting is disabled, a user cannot access TPO company loans associated with the other Encompass user accounts within the same Organization folder.
Encompass Software Development Kit (SDK)
The Encompass system and the Encompass Software Development Kit (SDK) perform the Loan Open and Loan Lock operations in two separate API calls. Prior to the update being introduced in this release, when a user opened a loan file through the Encompass SmartClient or the Encompass SDK, the loan would be opened and then “locked” to prevent modifications from other users. However, it is possible for another user, say User A, to have modified and closed the loan in between the time the same loan is opened and locked for another user, say User B. The effect of this would be that User B would unknowingly be working with a stale copy of the loan. When User B went to save the loan, Encompass would reject the save, saying that there is a newer version of the loan file available, namely the one that User A saved, and therefore they could not overwrite it.
To resolve this issue, the Encompass system and the Encompass SDK have been updated to ensure that the Loan Open and Loan Lock operations are performed in the proper sequence. When a user opens a loan, the Loan Lock operation is now performed prior to the Loan Open operation. This ensures that when a user successfully opens a loan, they will be working the latest copy and will have their saves succeed.
Please note – there are two different Open methods that can be used in the Encompass SDK:
- Open (string guid)
- Open (string guid, bool loanlock, bool exclusive)
In order to get this new fix in your Encompass SDK instance, the following method should be used: Open (string guid, bool loanlock, bool exclusive)
The following DLL files are now included in the Encompass SDK Installer package:
- GdPicture.NET.10.dll
- GdPicture.NET.10.filters.dll
- GdPicture.NET.10.image.gdimgplug.dll
- GdPicture.NET.10.PDF.dll
- itextsharp.dll
The addition of these files will help prevent Unhandled Exception errors that some users encountered when attempting to attach PDF files (and other file types) to the eFolder via the Encompass SDK.
Fixed Issues for Version 18.4.0.1 Server Patch 1
This update contains updates to users' Encompass client machines (18.4.0.1) and a Server Patch (server patch 1) that is applied to the Encompass Server. The fixed issues listed below are all included in this update.
The client-side update can be controlled manually via the Encompass Version Manager tool. If the tool has been configured to always apply new releases to users’ computers automatically, users will receive this update upon their initial log in of Encompass following the release.
Please note that the Server Patch included with this release will be applied to the Encompass Server automatically and cannot be controlled manually via the Encompass Version Manager tool.
The Encompass SDK (Encompass Software Development Kit) has been repackaged with this 18.4.0.1 update. Although it is not required, it is strongly recommended that you upgrade to this latest SDK delivered with this update to ensure the same functionality that is in this latest version of Encompass is also available in your SDK. If your SDK application utilizes the Encompass SmartClient, you can automate this process so the SDK is upgraded automatically every time you apply an Encompass release. If your SDK application is installed on a computer at your location, you must manually upgrade the SDK for every release. For instructions for automating the upgrade process or manually upgrading the SDK, refer to the Upgrading the Encompass SDK page or view the SDK Programmer’s Guide.
Again, upgrading to this latest SDK package is strongly recommended, but not required, for this 18.4.0.1 Server Patch 1 update.
Visit the Encompass SDK Install Files page to access the SDK install files for this release.
In Encompass, go to Help > About Encompass in the menu bar to view your Encompass version. Once you upgrade, your new version number will be 18.4.0.1 Server Patch 1.
Updates to the Encompass Server (i.e. Server Patch 1)
These are the updates in the Server Patch that is applied to the Encompass Server. The Server Patch contains the relevant Encompass code that applies to the following fixed issues. The Server Patch included with this release will be applied to the Encompass Server automatically and cannot be controlled manually via the Encompass Version Manager tool.
The fixed issue being applied with this server patch is not applicable to Encompass Broker Edition.
An issue occurred in testing environments where all of the configurable workflows in the Configurable Workflow Templates setting that were created in Encompass 18.3.0.8 (or earlier) were cleared out from the setting when Encompass was upgraded to version 18.4. This issue has been resolved.
Updates to the Encompass Client Machines
The following items are all client-side updates that are applied to users' Encompass client machines. These client updates can be controlled manually via the Encompass Version Manager tool. If the tool has been configured to always apply new releases to users’ computers automatically, users will receive this update upon their initial log in of Encompass following the release.
Encompass Forms and Tools
An issue was resolved that resulted in the Lock Request Form tool not being updated when changes were made to relevant fields on the Subordinate Mortgage Loan Amounts pop-up window in a loan file. This resulted in incorrect LTV, CTLV, and HCLTV ratios being calculated on the Lock Request Form tool. This issue has been resolved and changes in the following loan file fields are now being updated in the corresponding Lock Request fields.
-
Updates to the Closed End Primary Mortgage Total (field ID 427) on the Subordinate Mortgage Loan Amounts pop-up window now trigger an update to the 1st Mortgage amount (field ID 3035) on the Subordinate Mortgage Loan Amounts pop-up window on the Lock Request Form tool.
-
Updates to the Closed End Subordinate Mortgage Total (field ID 428) on the Subordinate Mortgage Loan Amounts pop-up window now trigger an update to the 2nd Mortgage amount (field ID 3036) on the Subordinate Mortgage Loan Amounts pop-up window on the Lock Request Form tool.
-
Updates to the Total Open End (HELOC) Draw Amounts (field ID CASASRN.X167) on the Subordinate Mortgage Loan Amounts pop-up window now trigger an update to the HELOC Actual Balance (field ID 3846) on the Lock Request Form tool.
CBIZ-20237
In the Adjustable Rate Mortgage section on the RegZ-CD input form, all four of the following options now display properly in the Floor Vrbg dropdown list (field ID ARM.FlrVerbgTyp):
-
My interest rate will never be less than the start rate or [floor].
-
or less than [floor].
-
My interest rate will never be less than the margin or [floor].
-
or less than the Margin.
With early versions of Encompass 18.4, the dropdown list displayed a single option of <nbsp /. This issue has been resolved and all four options are now displaying as expected in the dropdown list.
CBIZ-20157
Updates have been made to the calculation used to populate the Estimated Construction Interest (field ID 4088) to address issues for construction loans under the following scenarios. This calculation also affected the APR calculation for these loan scenarios.
-
Require interest reserve amounts were being understated for construction and construction-to-permanent ARM and fixed-rate loans when A (Half Loan) was selected for the Est. Interest On (field ID SYS.X6) and when the checkboxes were selected for Required Interest Reserve (field ID 4086) and Creditor Prohibits Borrower from Making Interest Payments (field ID 4087) were selected.
-
Require interest reserve amounts were being understated for construction ARM loans when B (Full Loan) was selected for the Est. Interest On (field ID SYS.X6) and when the checkboxes were selected for Required Interest Reserve (field ID 4086) and Creditor Prohibits Borrower from Making Interest Payments (field ID 4087) were selected.
-
One month of interest was not being included in the required interest reserve amounts for construction and construction-to-permanent ARM loans when the rate did not change during the life of the loan on the Amortization Schedule. This occurred when either A (half loan) or B (Full Loan) was selected for the Est. Interest On (field ID SYS.X6),
The require interest reserves calculation has now been updated and the amounts are now calculating correctly.
A Lock icon has been added to the Estimated Construction Interest field (field ID 4088). The amount is locked for loans that have been previously disclosed. Click the Lock icon to recalculate the amount.
CBIZ-18061
Encompass Pipeline
When utilizing Encompass 18.4 in test environments, it was discovered that applicable loans stored in the Archive loan folder that should have been listed in custom Pipeline views were not being listed, even when the All Folders option was selected for the Loan Folder. This issue has been resolved so that all loans that should be listed in custom Pipleline views are indeed listed there, including archived loans.
Administrators can configure a Persona Access to Loans business rule that provides loan officers with custom access to loans. For example, they can set up a rule where a loan officer can edit a loan task, but only view the Conversation Log, not edit it. There are numerous custom access options that can be configured for loan officers. When a rule like this is active and a loan officer attempts to open a loan file, a warning message is triggered that informs the loan officer that access to the loan file is limited and the actions they can take on the loan file is listed for them. In Encompass 18.4, this warning message was no longer being triggered for loan officers when the business rule was active. This issue has been resolved so that the warning message informing the loan officer of their “custom” access to the loan is once again being provided for them.
Dynamic Data Management (DDM)
As part of the new Dynamic Data Management (DDM) tool, administrators can set up scenario-based fee rules and field rules to automate fee and field data population rather than using templates and field triggers business rules. The tool is designed that once you have created a fee rule or a field rule in your test or lower environment and validated it, you can then export it and then import that rule in your production environment. However, it was discovered in the 18.4 test environment that when users attempted to export a field rule they received the following Application Error:
Application Error:
An error occurred. Please contact the administrator with the following information:
One or more errors occurred.
This issue has been resolved so that users can now export field rules successfully using DDM, and this error message is no longer triggered.
Encompass Software Development Kit (SDK)
In the Encompass 18.4 release, a race condition issue that was occurring in Encompass 18.3 (and earlier) between Loan Open and Lock Operations was addressed (as discussed in the Update to Address Race Conditions Issue That Occurs Between Loan Open and Loan Lock Operations entry on this Fixed Issues page.) Normally, Encompass SDK programs that try to lock an already locked loan will get an EllieMae.Encompass.BusinessObjects.Loans.LockException exception. However, it was discovered in Encompass 18.4 test environments that using the Loan.Open method with the lock flag set to 'True' would instead throw an internal EllieMae.EMLite.ClientServer.Exceptions.LockException exception. Clients capturing and acting on the previous Exception type from Encompass 18.3 and earlier would see their SDK processes fail after upgrading to Encompass 18.4. To address this issue, the exception generated from a Loan Open operation in these circumstances has been changed to throw the EllieMae.Encompass.BusinessObjects.Loans.LockException that clients have been handling in prior versions.
Fixed Issues for Version 18.4.0.2
This update contains updates to users' Encompass client machines (18.4.0.2). The fixed issues listed below are all included in this update and address issues discovered in Encompass 18.4. This update is scheduled to be first released on October 18, 2018. Clients receiving the Encompass 18.4 release on October 20, 2018 will also receive this update on October 20 as well.
The client-side update can be controlled manually via the Encompass Version Manager tool. If the tool has been configured to always apply new releases to users’ computers automatically, users will receive this update upon their initial log in of Encompass following the release. (For users receiving the Encompass 18.4 release on October 20, this update will be automatically applied along with the Encompass 18.4 release and cannot be controlled with the Encompass Version Manager tool).
The Encompass SDK (Encompass Software Development Kit) has been repackaged with this 18.4.0.2 update.
Again, upgrading to this latest SDK package is recommended, but not required, for this 18.4.0.2 update.
Visit the Encompass SDK Install Files page to access the SDK install files for this release.
In Encompass, go to Help > About Encompass in the menu bar to view your Encompass version. Once you upgrade, your new version number will be 18.4.0.2.
An issue occurred in loans with two or more borrower pairs. If a user entered borrower information on the Borrower Summary - Origination input form (or any input form where borrower information can be entered), added a second set of borrowers (i.e., a borrower pair via the Manage Borrowers tool), and then selected the second borrower pair from the Borrowers dropdown field, the second borrower pair information was displayed on the form as expected. However, if the user then saved the loan file, the first borrower pair's information was then displayed on the input form, even though the second borrower pair was still selected in the Borrowers field. In addition, when generating eDisclosures for the second borrower pair, the first borrower pair's information was populating to the disclosures even though the second borrower pair was selected in the Send eDisclosures pop-up window. These issues with the second borrower pair information reverting back to the first borrower pair's information on the input forms and disclosures has been resolved.
An issue occurred where the Changed Circumstance options in the Lookup window on the Loan Estimate (LE) Page 1 (and the Closing Disclosure (CD) Page 1) were missing for non-admin users (i.e., any user assigned with a persona that was not Administrator or Super Administrator). Therefore, users were unable to indicate the reason for a Changed Circumstance that required a redisclosure of a loan in field 3169 on the LE Page 1.
This issue has been resolved so that the Changed Circumstance options are now listed in the Lookup window for all authorized users as expected.
As part of the fix for this issue, the new Change of Circumstance Options section that was added to the User Groups setting has been rolled back/removed. This section of the User Groups setting, originally included in early versions of Encompass 18.4, is no longer available starting in Encompass 18.4.0.2. Note that if you configured this Change of Circumstance Options section for a user group, these settings will no longer be honored. You can use the Loan Setup > Changed Circumstances Setup tool to manage the changed circumstance options that will be available to users to select in the loan file. To view details about this Change of Circumstance Options section of the setting that has been removed, refer to the Change Log.
NICE-14908, NICE-14922
To limit user access to the Piggyback Loans Tool, the following buttons on the new Subordinate Mortgage Loan Amount pop-up window can now be controlled via Persona Access to Fields business rules: Link to Loan (field ID BUTTON_Link to Loan), Add New Closed End (field ID BUTTON_Add New Closed End), Add New HELOC (field ID BUTTON_Add New HELOC), and Remove Link (field ID BUTTON_Remove Link).
CBIZ-20472
An issue was resolved that caused blank space to print on the Funding Worksheet output form in the section that includes the list of fees that are excluded from the wire amount. This issue has been corrected and the excluded fees now print as expected on the Funding Worksheet output form.
CBIZ-20493
Beginning with the initial release of Encompass 18.4, the Number of Days dropdown list (field ID 1962) was inadvertently disabled in the Construction Mortgage section on the RegZ-CD and RegZ-LE input forms and on the Loan Programs template setting unless the Heloc option was selected for Loan Type (field ID 1172). This issue has been resolved and the Number of Days list is now enabled for all loan types in the Construction Mortgage section on the RegZ-CD and RegZ-LE input forms and on the Loan Programs template setting.
CBIZ-20448
An issue has been resolved that caused the Initially Payable to Your Institution field (field ID HMDA.X43) to be not editable in some Encompass user’s environments when the Action Taken option (field ID 1393) was set to any option other than 3, 4, or 5. This issue has been resolved and the Initially Payable to Your Institution field is no editable under the conditions described above. Workaround Information:
The following workaround was provided for this production issue for Encompass user who were populating the Initially Payable to Your Institution field with a constant value. The workaround is no longer required for the Encompass 18.4.0.2 release and later.
- Create a custom field configured to populate the current date and time. Then create a field trigger rule to populate a default value to the Initially Payable to Your Institution field whenever a change is made in the custom field.
CBIZ-20571
Electronic Document Management
An issue was resolved that caused the following error message to display when attempting to send eConsent requests for a loan file with multiple borrower pairs:
This issue has been resolved and eConsent requests can now be sent successfully for loan files with multiple borrower pairs.
EDM-21351
Encompass Software Development Kit (SDK)
An issue occurred in Encompass 18.4 for non-admin Encompass SDK users (i.e., users assigned with any persona besides Administrator or Super Administrator) where the QueryPipeline was not returning the correct number of loan results. In some cases, zero (0) loans were returned in the Pipeline for the non-admin users, but if they logged into the Encompass SmartClient, the correct number of loans were returned. In other cases, QueryPipeline returned some loans for non-admin users, but still significantly fewer loans than should have been returned. Users assigned with the Administrator or Super Administrator persona received the correct number of loans from QueryPipeline.
This issue has been resolved so that non-admin users now receive the correct loan results from QueryPipeline in the Encompass SDK.
Fixed Issues for the Server Patch 2 Update
This update contains a Server Patch (server patch 2) that is applied to the Encompass Server. There are no updates being applied to users' Encompass client machines. The fixed issues listed below are all included in this update. This update is scheduled to be released on October 20, 2018.
Please note that the Server Patch included with this release will be applied to the Encompass Server automatically and cannot be controlled manually via the Encompass Version Manager tool.
There is no impact to the Encompass SDK (Encompass Software Development Kit). A new SDK package has not been created for this update.

Updates to the Encompass Server (i.e. Server Patch 2)
These are the updates in the Server Patch that is applied to the Encompass Server. The Server Patch contains the relevant Encompass code that applies to the following fixed issue. The Server Patch included with this release will be applied to the Encompass Server automatically and cannot be controlled manually via the Encompass Version Manager tool.
The fixed issue being applied with this server patch is not applicable to Encompass Broker Edition.
An issue occurred in Encompass when attempting to save changes to certain loans that had been originated in, or modified by certain business rules, in Encompass TPO Connect, Encompass Consumer Connect, Encompass Loan Officer Connect, or Encompass Developer Connect. It was discovered that these Connect products were incorrectly evaluating business rules- specifically field triggers, rule conditions or custom field calculations- that were using the "@" operator within their Advanced Code. For example, [@762] Today. As a result, the business rules were populating the incorrect date into applicable date fields in the loan. These incorrect dates were considered invalid by the Encompass system's Reporting Database and Audit Trail. As a result, the following Application Error was triggered when attempting to save the loan in Encompass:
This issue has been resolved, and this error is no longer triggered when saving impacted loans in Encompass.
Please note:
- The error triggered by the Audit Trail due to the invalid date is only one indicator that an invalid date has been populated to a loan:
If a date field in a loan in a Connect product was modified by a business rule using a field trigger that uses the "@" symbol in an Advanced Code action, this code may have executed incorrectly and caused an unexpected result.
If a date field in a loan in a Connect product was modified by a field trigger that uses the "@" symbol in an Advanced Code condition of the trigger, the trigger may have run when it should not have or may not have run when it should have. As a result, the effect of the trigger may have been applied to the loan when it shouldn't have or may not have been applied when it should have.
-
It is recommended that you evaluate your custom field calculations and field triggers in your Connect product to determine which are potentially affected and what the potential effect would be. You should then open each potentially affected loan (i.e., loans originated on or after October 14, 2018) and inspect the fields that could have been impacted and ensure they have the expected values.

This issue did not affect Advanced Code in business rules executed within Encompass. It only affected loans that were modified by Advanced Code in business rules executed in the Connect product suite.
