Why can't I submit my Package?

New packages are automatically assigned a status of “Draft”. This indicates that the package requires more information before it can be sent to the target recording jurisdiction. When all required information is added, the package will be assigned to a status of “Ready”. The following minimum steps are required to get a package ready:

  1. Add at least one document to the package, either by scanning, uploading or dragging to over from your desktop.

  2. View the document and add any required indexing data.

If you complete these steps and the package remains in Draft, it means that there are additional tasks to be completed. To find out what those tasks are, click on the status indicator on the Package Details page.

Clicking on the status indicator will pull up the dialog shown below. In this example, the document named “Poehling 25‑529770 1” requires that the user indicate the number of references included in the document. Clicking on that name will open the Document Viewer to that document, where you would update the Reference Count and close the document. The package will now be ready to submit.
