What's in This Release

(Updated on 2/18/2022)

Highlights of this release include the following:

  • New Branding for the Web Version of Encompass - As part of the Encompass 22.1 release, Encompass LO Connect is being rebranded to the web version of Encompass. Throughout Encompass 22.1 and in these release notes, labels and references to Encompass LO Connect have been replaced with the web version of Encompass or similar.

  • New Windows Operating Systems and Microsoft Office Versions Now Supported - The latest versions of Windows 10 and 11 are now supported, along with Microsoft Office Version 2202.

  • Support for iLad Imports - Updates have been made in Encompass to support iLAD loan file imports.

  • New Workflow Tasks Tool - The Workflow Tasks tool is now provided on the Tools tab when working in loan files. Previously only available in the web version of Encompass, this new option enables loan team members to access the Workflow Tasks tool from within Encompass.

  • Ability to View Task Views and Needed Documents for Sent eFolder Packages - Updates have been made to the Packages tab in the eFolder to provide access to additional details about the sender and recipients, to provide task-level details for each package, and to enable users to view a list of Needed documents that were requested as part of a package.

  • Updates for Enhanced Conditions - Various updates have been made for enhanced conditions including additional printing options when printing enhanced conditions on custom print forms, a new 128-character limit for enhanced condition template names, and new persona controls.

  • New Setting to Enable Encompass to Validate Business Rules and Dynamic Data Management Rules Before Sending eDisclosures and Ordering Closing Documents - A new Admin Tools policy, Validate all system rules prior to Ordering Docs, is now available to enable Encompass to validate business rules and Dynamic Data Management (DDM) rules when a loan team member is sending an eDisclosure request or ordering closing documents. This setting helps ensure that users cannot proceed with sending eDisclosures or ordering closing documents when a DDM rule or business rule should be restricting the user from proceeding.

  • Updates to eNote Servicing Options - Clients with separate servicing departments will be able to login to our new web-based eVault Portal to perform eNote servicing tasks on their existing eNotes. Additionally, two new servicing tasks (deactivate an eNote and reverse a deactivation) are now available when working with eNotes.

  • Updates to the Corporate and Branch Price Concession Fields – Up to five (5) sets of fields are now available to capture price concessions. The multiple sets of fields eliminate the need to manually consolidate multiple concession amounts and summarize text and other fields.

  • Updates to the Bid Tape Upload Process - The bid tape upload process has been updated to enable an Encompass TPO Connect user to view their bid tape loans in their Encompass TPO Connect pipeline. In addition, several new validations have been added and the upload process has been streamlined.

  • Support for Advanced Payments on the Correspondent Purchase Advice Form – The First Payment Due Date calculation has been updated to honor the Paid to Date (field ID 3569).

  • A new Paid to Date validation will ensure the date falls on the 1st of the month.

  • When the Paid to Date field has a valid value, the system will ensure the First Payment Due Date is at least one month past the Paid to Date and the Calculated Purchase Principal will be set to the Beg Balance of the matching Payment Date row on the Payment Amortization Table.

Attention Encompass Administrators!

The following Encompass 22.1 features and settings may require additional action by the Encompass administrator. For example, by configuring or adjusting options in the Encompass settings, or reviewing and revising existing business rules affected by the new features. Please review these features to determine whether updates are required for your Encompass settings or business rules. In addition, refer to the Encompass Settings sections of the Feature Enhancements and Fixed Issues pages for specific information about new and updated Encompass settings.

Refer to the Encompass Administrator Checklist for the 22.1 Major Release  for a list of Encompass settings to review and adjust to support the policies and procedures you use when working with your installation of Encompass.

  • Additional Options for Printing Enhanced Conditions on Custom Print Forms - Administrators can use new options in the Customs Print Forms setting to configure custom forms that list the condition name and the condition description for Enhanced Conditions that are open, closed, or both. When an enhanced condition has both external and internal condition descriptions, only the external description is printed. The new options display in the Customs Print Forms setting when you create a custom form in the category.

  • Enhanced Condition Names Can Now Be Up to 128-Characters Long - When using the Enhanced Conditions settings tool to create conditions, enhanced conditions can now have names that are up to 128-characters in length.

  • New Persona Controls Added to Enhanced Conditions - The Persona setting has been updated to provide additional options for Enhanced Conditions. When managing persona access to edit options for Enhanced Conditions, administrators can now control if the persona can edit the internal and external descriptions for the condition and if they can print the condition details internally and externally.

  • New Alert When a Non-Borrowing Owner Added After Disclosing the Closing Disclosure - A new Redisclose Closing Disclosure (NBO Updated) alert has been added to Encompass to prompt users to redisclose the closing disclosure when a non-borrowing owner is added to a loan after the Closing Disclosure has been disclosed.

  • Update to Access and LO Connect tab in Persona Setting for New Encompass Branding - As a result of the new branding introduced in Encompass 22.1 for the web version of Encompass (formerly known as Encompass LO Connect), the references on the Access tab in the Persona setting have been updated to differentiate between the desktop of version of Encompass and the web version of Encompass. Administrators can use this setting to indicate which versions of Encompass the persona can access.

  • New Confirmation Prompt and Enhancements When Working with the All Users Group in User Groups Setting - To help ensure administrators do not inadvertently add a new group or users to the All Users group in the User Groups setting, a new confirmation message is triggered when the New icon is clicked.

  • New Corporate and Branch Price Concession Fields Added to Secondary Lock Tool - Prior to this release, the Corporate Price Concession and Branch Price Concession fields on the Secondary Lock Tool were summary fields. When the Edit icon was selected, users would manually enter the sum of all the corporate or branch price concessions, as well as summarize text and other fields in the Price Concession pop up window. In this release, 8 price concession fields (4 corporate and 4 branch) have been added and each section has been expanded to capture price concessions and eliminate the need to manually summarize the price data.

  • New Price Concession Fields Added to Loan Pricing Decimal Places Setting - The five new Corporate Price Concession fields, the five new Branch Price Concession fields, and the SRP Paid Out field in the Buy Side Lock and Pricing column of the Secondary Lock Tool have been added to the Loan Pricing Decimal Places setting ( Encompass > Settings > Secondary Setup > Loan Pricing Decimal Places) to ensure the decimal places displayed (3 or 10) match other loan pricing fields in Encompass.

System Requirements & SDK Upgrade Requirement for Encompass

Have you reviewed the latest System Requirements and upgraded the SDK?

Before downloading or applying this new Encompass release, it is important to verify the latest system requirements for Encompass client machines. Please review the System Requirements for Encompass to ensure your environment meets the requirements needed to operate Encompass successfully.

The Encompass Software Development Kit (SDK) enables developers to build custom applications that can be added on, or connected to, Encompass and the ICE Mortgage Technology Platform. If you are utilizing the Encompass SDK, a major Encompass release like this one requires you to upgrade the Encompass SDK run time environment to match the newly updated Encompass Server. If you fail to upgrade the SDK, your application will not be permitted to connect to the updated Encompass Server.

If your SDK application utilizes the Encompass SmartClient, you can automate this process so the SDK is upgraded automatically every time you apply an Encompass release. If your SDK application is installed on a computer at your location, you must manually upgrade the SDK for every release. For instructions for automating the upgrade process or manually upgrading the SDK, refer to the Upgrading the Encompass SDK page or view the SDK Programmer’s Guide.
