Change Default File Format window

Overview

This topic provides information on how to use the Change Default File Format window.

This is an administration task. To change the default file name format you must have administration rights.

Simplifile administrators can change the default format of the file name for downloads. They can change the elements that should display in the file name, the order in which they display, and the separator that displays between each element.

Changing the default file name format for one package of an organization affects all packages of that organization.

If you are associated with multiple organizations and each organization has a different file name format, you must download packages for each organization separately.

If you choose to combine all documents into a single file, the system uses the standard Package Name file name format.

Open the Change Default File Format window

  1. Click the Click here to change the default document file name format link when performing a file download task from the following pages:
    • Packages page
    • Package Details page
    • Search page

Letter Description
A Mark the boxes of the elements you want to display in the file name.
B Click the arrows in this column to move an element’s position forward or backward.
C Choose from the dropdown list what should display between each element in the file name.

Change the default file format

NOTE: This window is used to determine the default file name format. As you make selections, you can view the results of the selections in the Preview field near the bottom of the window.

  1. Open the Change Default File Format window.
  2. To include an item or items in the default file name format, mark the box or boxes in the left column.
  3. To include an item or items in the default file name format, clear the boxes in the left column.
  4. To change the order of an item in the default file name format, click the up arrow icon to move the item to up in the window or click the down arrow icon to move the item down in the window. The default file name will display left to right in the order from top to bottom.
  5. To change the separator that will be used in the default file name format, in the Separators section, click the down‑arrow field and select the wanted separator.
  6. View the results of your selection in the Preview field.
  7. When the default file name format is how you want it, click the Save button. The changes are saved and the Change Default File Name Format window closes.
