Count (or Jurisdiction) document and package statuses

Simplifile uses statuses to track the progress of each document and package through the eRecording process. This lets submitters and counties (or jurisdictions) look at package statuses in Simplifile to find out where a package is in the process.

The table below lists the statuses a package or document may have in the Simplifile Recipient component, and describes what each status means. You can select a package’s status on the Packages page to see a definition of that package status and a list of items that require attention.

County (or jurisdication) Documentation Statuses
This Status Means this
Waiting The package is in the reviewing queue at the recording county (or jurisdiction), and is ready for review.
Reviewing An employee at the recording county (or jurisdiction) is checking the package to make sure its documents meet the qualifications for processing.
Accepted A recording county (or jurisdiction) employee has verified that a document qualifies to be recorded. When all of the documents in a package qualify to be recorded, the package is passed to the recorder. A recording county (or jurisdiction) employee can unaccept a document if necessary.
Rejected A recording county (or jurisdiction) employee has determined that a document does not qualify to be recorded. All documents in the package, either approved or rejected, are returned without being recorded. The reasons for the rejection have been noted so that the submitter can make corrections and re‑submit the package.
Recorded The package containing the document has been sent to the recorder and all of its documents have been recorded. It is ready to be returned to the submitter for storage.
