Default File Contacts

Use the Default File Contacts feature to enter your most commonly used service providers. When you originate a loan, the default providers are copied to the appropriate loan forms and to the File Contacts tool for the loan. Default providers are specific to each user.

If a Data Template contains entries for file contacts, they will overwrite default provider entries when a loan is created.

To Add Default File Contacts:

Some providers, such as Appraiser, contain Relationship and Line Item Number fields. These are used to disclose your relationship to the provider, if any. Type the relationship and the provider's line number from the GFE. An example using the Appraiser record might be, The provider is a relative for the Relationship field, and 803 for the Line Item Number.

  1. On the menu bar, click Encompass, and then click Settings.

  2. On the left panel, click Personal Settings, and then click Default File Contacts.

  3. Click the Address Book icon next to the Company Name field for the category of default file contact you want to add.

    • The Business Contacts window opens, displaying contacts associated with the selected category.

  4. Select a business contact and click Select.

    • The Contact information is copied to the Default File Contacts list.

    You can also add a default file contact by typing contact information directly in the contact fields.

  5. When finished, click the Save icon.
