New Features and Forms in Version 22.1.0.2 Server Patch 2 (Broker Edition)
This section discusses the new features being introduced in this Encompass release.
Update to the Encompass Client Machines
The Encompass Consumer Connect 22.1 April Service Pack is introducing the new Homeowners Insurance Service that makes the sometimes challenging task of borrowers providing proof of homeowners insurance (HOI) a more automated and efficient process. Rather than borrowers having to work through multiple systems and vendors to purchase an HOI policy and then manually upload the required documentation, they can use the Homeowners Insurance Service to request quotes and purchase HOI from within the loan. Lenders then save time and ensure loan quality by receiving the borrower proof of HOI directly in the loan file in Encompass in a closing-ready format.
Starting with the Encompass Consumer Connect 22.1 April Service Pack, the Homeowners Insurance Service with GEICO® is enabled on Encompass Consumer Connect sites and borrower portal widgets by default. This means that borrowers are automatically presented with a GEICO Homeowners Insurance task card in the borrower portal unless a lender administrator disables the service or configures another provider.
In this Encompass 22.1 Critical Patch 2 release, a new configuration policy called Consumer Can Order Home Insurance on ECC has been added to the Settings Manager in the Encompass Admin Tools to allow lender administrators to disable or enable this new Homeowners Insurance Service. By default, this policy is enabled.
Please refer to the Homeowners Insurance Service setup and user guide for detailed information about setting up and using this new service, along with borrower workflows that walk you through the homeowners insurance shopping experience in Encompass Consumer Connect.
Enabling and Disabling the Homeowners Insurance Service Policy (in Encompass Admin Tools)
Encompass administrators can use the Server Settings Manager in Encompass Admin Tools to enable and disable the Homeowners Insurance Service.
To Open the Server Settings Manager:
-
On your Windows task bar, click the Start menu or Start icon, navigate to the Ellie Mae Encompass program folder, and then click Admin Tools.
-
Double-click Settings Manager.
-
If you are prompted to log in to the server, type the User ID, Password, and Server that you use to log in to Encompass as the Admin user.
-
To Turn the Homeowners Insurance Service On or Off:
-
Select Policies from the Category list.
-
Locate the Consumer Can Order Home Insurance on ECC policy. Double-click the policy's current value, and then select False to disable the Homeowners Insurance Service or select True to enable these features. (By default, this policy is set to True.)
-
Click OK.
If you set this policy to False, the service is disabled in your Consumer Connect instance(s) even if the Home Owners Insurance setting in Consumer Connect Admin is turned On.
Again, please refer to the Homeowners Insurance Service setup and user guide for additional information and comprehensive instructions for configuring and using this new service in Encompass and Encompass Consumer Connect.
