Fixed Issues for Version 21.2.0.2 (Broker Edition)
This section describes the issues that have been fixed in this release.
This Encompass 21.2 Major Release Critical Patch 2 release includes an update to the Encompass Server only (server patch 1).
Why we fixed this issue: This issue was fixed to improve usability and to help ensure Encompass is operating as expected. This issue was chosen to be fixed based on the severity of its impact to clients and client feedback.
Updates to the Encompass Server
The Encompass 21.2 Critical Patch 2 release includes the following item, which is being addressed with an update to the Encompass Server only (server patch 1). The Server Patch included with this release will be applied to the Encompass Server automatically and cannot be controlled manually via the Encompass Version Manager tool.
An issue with the Partner version of the Encompass SDK (PSDK) was introduced with the release of Encompass 21.2 that resulted in Encompass users receiving fatal errors when ordering services. It was determined that these errors were caused by PSDK code that contained a NULL value in SetServiceCustomValue. Due to the missing parameter for the NULL value, an application error occurred, preventing the user from proceeding further.
This missing parameter has been addressed and this issue is now resolved.
-
The update to address this issue is being applied to the Encompass Server only.
-
This update will require an IIS reset which will result in downtime for all Encompass clients. This update will be performed during the standard Encompass maintenance window.
-
The standard Encompass SDK is not impacted by this update and has not been repackaged for this update.
Workaround Description
The following workaround was provided for this production issue and is no longer required for Encompass 21.2.0.2 Server Patch 1 and later:
-
Update SetServiceCustomValue by setting the values to an empty string rather than null.
