Encompass Data Connect - Updates to Features in 22.1 Major Release
Administrators in Data Connect can now use the Administration Settings > User Management page to manage users and passwords. Administrators can add (1) one new user, and also delete, modify, and add users as needed. A maximum of two (2) total users are permitted to access Data Connect. Prior to this enhancement, users would need to submit an ICE Mortgage Technology Technical Support case to manage users and request a password change.
To Manage Users:
-
After logging into your Encompass Data Connect instance, click the Administration Settings tab.
You must be an Encompass administrator to have access to the Administration Settings tab. This includes the user assigned with the admin user ID, as well as users assigned with the Super Administrator or Administrator personas in Encompass.
-
Click the User Management tab.
-
To add a user, click the Add DB User button.
-
In the Add User screen, enter the user details for the user:
-
User ID: This unique user ID must contain two or more characters. Alphanumeric characters are permitted, but the first character must be an alpha character.
-
Role: The client role is automatically assigned to the user. This role cannot be changed.
-
Password: This is a unique password required to log into their Data Connect instance. The password must meet the on-screen requirements displayed for this field.
-
When finished, click Save.
Additional information:
-
When less than two users have been added, the Add DB User button is enabled and can be used to add a new user.
-
When only one user has been added, the administrator cannot delete this user. At least one user must be added on this screen. A new Lock icon is provided to the administrator to indicate that the user cannot be deleted. When two total users have been added, this icon is replaced with a Delete (trash can) icon that the administrator can use to delete the user.
-
When two total users have been added, the Add DB User button is disabled. Administrators can delete a user as needed to enable the Add DB User button.
To Manage Passwords:
-
After logging into your Encompass Data Connect instance, click the Administration Settings tab.
You must be an Encompass administrator to have access to the Administration Settings tab. This includes the user assigned with the admin user ID, as well as users assigned with the Super Administrator or Administrator personas in Encompass.
-
Click the User Management tab.
-
In the User ID list, hover your mouse pointer over the hamburger menu next to the user that you are updating, and then click the Edit (pencil) icon.
-
On the Change Password screen, type the new password for the user, and then type it again in the Confirm Password field.
-
When finished, click Save.
Once the password is successfully updated, it is the administrator's responsibility to share the new credentials with the user. Users will not be notified automatically when their password is changed.
