New functionality has been added to the Borrower Lookup page to allow administrators and loan officers (if enabled) to reset a borrower password. The Reset Password option generates a temporary password and sends it to the borrower. The borrower will then use the temporary password and their user name to create a new password.
Enabling Loan Officers to Reset Passwords
Administrators can enable loan officers to reset borrower passwords by clicking the gear icon () on the Borrower Lookup page, then selecting the Allow Loan Officers to Reset Password check box.
After selecting the check box, a confirmation dialog box will appear. The administrator must confirm their election to allow loan officers to reset borrower passwords on behalf of borrowers.
Resetting a Borrower Password
If a borrower cannot reset their own password using the forgot password option on the Account Login screen, the lender can reset their password for them from the Borrower Lookup page.
Reset Password Process
-
Lender generates a temporary password.
On the Borrower Lookup page in Encompass Consumer Connect Admin, the lender locates the borrower's application details using the Borrower Lookup tool, then clicks Reset Password.
The borrower portal generates and displays a temporary password.
The lender provides the temporary password to the borrower. The lender can copy the password to the clipboard by clicking the Copy icon ()next to the password.
-
Borrower receives an email notification.
When the temporary password is generated, Consumer Connect also sends an email notification to the borrower. The notification email informs the borrower that their password has been reset.
-
Borrower logs in with the temporary password and then creates a new password.
On the borrower portal log in screen, the borrower enters the temporary password provided to them by the lender. The borrower enters and confirms their new password, and then clicks Submit.

The email notification template text editor has been updated to include the Referral field (field ID1822). The Referral field is a dynamic Encompass field. Lender administrators can insert the Referral field into an email template so the source of the application will be displayed in the email notification.
The Referral field is available for the following notifications:

Loan Submission Email for Co-Borrower
-
Abandoned Application Email for Lender
-
Loan Submission Failure Email for Lender

Loan Application Workflows
A new option has been added to Services Settings for Credit Authorization to require applicants to enter their names under the Credit Authorization Agreement, which is considered a signature. When Credit Authorization is enabled for a workflow, new signature fields appear on the Order Credit page of the loan application where applicants provide their signatures. Populating the signature fields establishes intent to apply for joint credit.
In the loan application, when the borrower selects the I/We accept the Credit Authorization Agreement check box, a signature field will appear for each borrower below the Credit Authorization Agreement. Signature fields are required. Each borrower must type their name into their respective field. Note that the Credit Authorization Agreement with the signature will not be stored in the eFolder.

The account creation process for borrower portal has been enhanced and simplified to improve user experience. Enhancements made to the account creation process are listed below.
Account Login Screen Recognizes Existing and New Users
The Account Login page uses browser cookies to determine whether the borrower has an existing borrower portal account or is a new user. When a borrower is directed to the Account Login screen via the loan application, the following logic applies:
-
If the borrower has logged into their account recently, and their log in information still exists in browser cookies, the LogIn screen will open.
-
If the borrower does not have an account or if the browser session is new, the Create Account screen will open. When applicable the Create Account form will be pre-populated with the user's first name, last name, email address, phone numbers, phone type, and user name if available.
New Warning Message on Login and Create Account Screens When Saving a Loan Application
A new message is displayed on the Login and Create Account screens when a borrower saves a loan application. The new message warns the borrower that the loan application will be deleted and the borrower must log in or create an account to save their progress. This message only appears on the Login and Create Account screens when the borrower is redirected to them by saving the loan application from the Assets, Employment and Income, Order Credit, or My Loan Application pages.
This enhancement does not apply to Encompass Consumer Connect SSO sites.
