Audit Trail
Use the Audit Trail tool to view and export a history of changes made to selected fields in the loan file. Each time one of the fields is changed (and the loan file is saved), a record is created in the audit trail for that field. Each record contains the date of the change, the ID and name of the user who made the change, and the value the field was changed to.
Configuration of Audit Trail Fields
The configuration of three areas of Encompass (by your System Administrator) determines the fields you can view in the Audit Trail tool.
- The Personas tool is used to specify which user personas can access the Audit Trail tool.
- The Reporting Database tool is used to specify which loan fields require an audit trail.
- Business rules defined for Field Access specify the fields that a user persona can access.
To View and Export an Audit Trail:
- Open a loan in Encompass.
- Click the Tools tab, and then click Audit Trail.
- To view an audit trail, enter a Field ID and click Show.
- Or click the Lookup icon
to open the Find Field window to select a field.
- To export an audit trail, enter (or find) a field ID and click the Export to Excel icon.

- The .data is exported and displays in an Excel spreadsheet. You can then print or save the data to a file type such as .xls, .csv, or .txt.
