Encompass Web Input Form Builder
Introducing the New Encompass Web Input Form Builder
The Encompass Web Input Form Builder enables Encompass LO Connect administrators to create and design custom input forms to meet your company’s specific requirements. Build forms featuring responsive layouts that adapt to the screen size of the desktop, tablet, or mobile device it is viewed on. Drag-and-drop more than 10 different elements, including text boxes, dropdown lists, images, and hyperlinks, directly onto the form. Custom forms built with the Encompass Web Input Form Builder can then be added to the Encompass LO Connect forms list where loan officers can access and use them.
Important! The new Encompass Web Input Form Builder being introduced with this release does not replace the Encompass Input Form Builder that is provided with Encompass. Please review these important factors to consider:
-
The Encompass Web Input Form Builder is a brand new feature for use with Encompass LO Connect only. (Future releases will enable you to use the Encompass Web Input Form Builder with additional Connect products.)
-
You must still use the Encompass Input Form Builder to create forms within your current Encompass system. (The new Encompass Web Input Form Builder is not compatible with Encompass.)
-
Forms created using the new Encompass Web Input Form Builder will only be accessible in Encompass LO Connect.
-
Forms created in the Encompass Input Form Builder cannot be imported or copied over into the new Encompass Web Input Form Builder. Nor can new forms created in the Encompass Web Input Form Builder be imported or copied over into the Encompass Input Form Builder for use with Encompass.
-

Working With the Encompass Web Input Form Builder
The Encompass Web Input Form Builder is accessed through the Encompass Admin Portal. Log in using your Encompass LO Connect administrator credentials.
To Log Into the Encompass Web Input Form Builder:
-
From a web browser, navigate to https://www.encompassloconnect.com.
-
Log in using an Encompass user account that is assigned with an Administrator or Super Administrator persona. You can also log in using the admin user ID if applicable.
-
Select Log In.
The Encompass Admin Portal opens.
Navigate to the Asset Management section of the Encompass Admin Portal to access a repository of uploaded assets that can be used to help create custom input forms. These asset repositories are shared, meaning any change made to a file is universal and will impact the file across all products in which it appears. Changes made to file names could result in errors in input forms.
Currently, files uploaded to the Asset Management cannot be deleted. This will be addressed in a future release.
Advanced JavaScript developers looking to design forms featuring elements that trigger events and similar types of actions can also refer to the Encompass Web Input Form Builder Developer’s Guide document.
To Access the Asset Management:
-
From the Encompass Admin Portal, select Asset Management.

All of the elements used to build a form appear at the top of the Form Builder workspace. Add an element to a form by using a simple drag-and-drop operation.
There are many elements to choose from:
-
Field elements: Calendar, Check Box, Dropdown, Multi-line Text Box, Radio Button, Text Box
Field elements are used to display data from the underlying loan file, and for the user to input or modify loan data.
-
Action elements: Button, Contact Button, Hyperlink, Rolodex
Action elements, when selected, invoke a predefined standard behavior or a custom behavior (defined by the creator of the form). For example, when the user clicks a button element, you can instruct the form to launch a web browser and navigate to a URL.
-
Container elements: Form, Category Box, Group Box
A container element is any element into which other elements can be added to form logical groups of elements. Once elements are added to a container, they can be managed as a single group. The top-most element in every custom form is the Form itself. Any element added to the form is contained, directly or indirectly, within the Form container element.
You can use the category box and group box container elements to quickly produce custom forms which match the look and feel of standard Encompass LO Connect forms.
-
User Interface elements: Image, Label
User Interface elements provide visual information to the user but have no bearing on the actual functionality of the form.
To Add Elements to the Form Workspace:
-
From the Encompass Web Input Form Builder, drag-and-drop an element onto the Form Workspace.
The Properties panel displays on the right side of the Form Builder workspace. When you add an element to the workspace, you define its appearance and behavior by setting values in the Properties panel. These values are automatically saved. The available properties are based on the selected elements.
The Properties panel is also where you assign event handlers to elements. Events are triggered when a user performs an action on a form. For example, the user can click a button to trigger a click event or click a text box to trigger a change event. For information on how to create a new custom event handler, refer to the Encompass Web Input Form Builder Developer’s Guide document.
To View an Element's Properties:
-
Select an element on the workspace. The Properties panel automatically displays the element’s properties.
